It is used to help level the foot of your sewing machine for sewing over thick seams.
Use this innovative tool to sew on:

Instructions:
When approaching a thick seam, stop with the needle down and raise the presser foot. Slide the Big Jig under the back of the foot up to the seam - this will create a level sewing surface. Carefully sew over the thickness and stop with the needle down. Move the Big Jig in front of the seam. Sew in the groove of the Big Jig until there is no more thickness. Stop with the needle down, remove the Big Jig, and resume sewing.
