ProSoft FoodSAFE® Food Contact PUL is a 100% eco-friendly PUL made without harmful chemicals in American textile factories. It is super soft, breathable, and flexible.
It is the best choice for making snack and lunch bags, pie bags, bibs and play mats, cloth diapers, swim bags, freezer bags, diaper bags and travel bags, shower curtains, outerwear, mattress covers, camping gear, hospital sheets and blankets, incontinence products, and other waterproof products.
ProSoft FoodSAFE® Food Contact PUL is the best-selling food fabric in the world. It is extremely durable and tested to withstand 300 wash cycles.

The American manufacturer has conducted all the prescribed tests in the USA and informs us that its PUL fabric contains no harmful substances for food use (no PVC, lead, phthalates, BPA, or latex). However, to our knowledge, there is no certification given to PUL for food use in France, so it is not food certified. Therefore, we cannot provide any guarantee in this regard. It is a hypoallergenic fabric compliant with CPSIA standards, non-toxic, and produced with respect for the environment. Guaranteed free of bisphenol A (BPA), perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA).
These fabrics are manufactured on industrial machines; no chemicals are used during manufacturing, but the lamination process during which the PU film is bonded to the base fabrics at a very high temperature produces an odor. The odor usually dissipates when it remains in our warehouse for some time, but our PULs sell very quickly, so the manufacturing odor rarely has the chance to dissipate. The odor decreases over time, but washing and drying the fabrics accelerate the process. Run them through a quick wash and dry cycle to eliminate odors.
Usage Precaution:
To sew ProSoft FoodSAFE® Food Contact PUL, it is best to use a Teflon foot (facilitates sliding).
To preserve waterproofing, use good quality polyester thread. Cotton or rayon threads should not be used as they naturally wick moisture. Also, make sure to use jersey or stretch needles; sharp needles would cut the jersey threads, enlarging the holes around the threads and causing leaks.
Washing Instructions:
- Wash at a maximum of 60° without spinning
- No tumble dryer (hang to dry to avoid spinning damage)
- Hot iron (be careful not to iron the film side)
- No fabric softener
- No bleach.
