Corozo is a natural material made from the seeds of the corozo palm tree. Also known as vegetable ivory, corozo is an environmentally responsible plant material. Unlike plastic, it is non-toxic and biodegradable.
The production of Corozo buttons does not require cutting down trees, as the buttons are made from the nuts of the trees. Corozo seeds can only be harvested when they naturally fall from the tree - otherwise, they are not mature enough for button production. Therefore, the production of corozo buttons requires no deforestation.
Corozo is composed of very dense organic fibers that result in excellent durability and scratch resistance.
Our Corozo buttons are dyed with environmentally friendly dyes and a unique color-fixing system to make them resistant to steam and washing.
