Boutis is an ancient technique derived from quilting. By stitching designs with thread and stuffing certain parts with cotton wadding, shadows and lights create a play of transparency and relief. The boutis needle is longer and finer. The work becomes easier with this needle, perfectly suited for stuffing fine tunnels with a lasso (2 mm wide).
